I went with a 10 year old on the first day (it opened during 1/2 term,
surprise), and I thought it was interesting, but crowded and slightly
full of spotty teenagers monopolising games). They have a PDP1! (Not
working, whether it is in working order I don't know, but I suspect it
may be missing bits.) They didn't seem to have many BBC games or BBCs,
which I thought would have been an interesting topic for a UK-based
thing (but they had lots of Sinclair stuff, and maybe they were much
more common, I don't know (we had a BBC...)). The other thing that
was cool was the Sony thing which would watch people and track hand
movement - it took some time to work out how it worked (eventually one
of the guides showed me...) but it was pretty cool.
Disclaimer: My idea of a sophisticated, modern game is Myst, and the
last game I played a lot was elite, so a lot of recent things kind of
pass me by except to notice how good graphics have got.
