[edlug] EDLUG Server

Just to let you know, We now have a the Edlug server configured. I have set it up as a K12LTSP server and can serve as a server to Mount ISO images for install fests. Thanks to Rob Grey for helping me with this.

It is a really nice machine
350 MHz
378 MB Ram
40GB 7200rpm Segate Barracuda HD
DVD
100MHz NIC

So all those that helped and donated money Thank You for your help, well done.

I have got hold of some older machines that I will be setting up as terminals. This will make for an interesting demonstration for those who have not seen one of these before. I managed to get one terminal up an running already (60Mhz CPU 32Mb ram)

The machine is presently being kept at Netresources where we hope to have a demonstration day in the next month or so.

I am presently looking for people that would like to bring some stuff along for a demonstration day. Anybody that has anything interesting to show can come along. It will be a very informal afair a kind of 'show and tell' chatting day. I should be demonstrating the Terminal Server, and possibly a machine running Linux from a Flash memory card, A smoothwall firewall and some others. I'm sure that you will have more interesting ideas than I. If there is anyone that is interested in showing off some OpenBSD, BEOS, Programming tools anything, please let me know.

cheers

Bob
