That's what happens with my USB floppy drive too. My Sony digital camera
uses the same driver, appearing as /dev/sda1. I plugged in one of those
keyring dongle things and it worked exactly like the floppy drive.
To topic drift a bit, what is the correct way to deal with having two USB
storage devices? The first one you plug in becomes /dev/sda (or sda1) and
the second one becomes /dev/sdb (or sdb1). This means that having lines
like
/dev/sda1 /camera vfat defaults,user,noauto
/dev/sdb /floppy vfat defaults,user,noauto
in your /etc/fstab means you have to plug the devices in in the correct
order. Now, the USB driver knows what the devices are. Is there a smart
way to have it mount the camera on /camera and the floppy on /floppy,
irrespective of which order you plug the things in?
All the best
Hugh
