[edlug] Android Phone as a Modem

I wondered if anyone else on the list has tried using an Android phone as a modem. I'm using an HTC Desire with an HP 2133 running Ubuntu 9.10, connected via USB. Everything works fine for few minutes but then the machine freezes. There's no response to the mouse or keyboard and the screen appears to be frozen.

Any ideas what I might do to try to debug the problem?
